Stellantis Stock Falls as Layoffs Loom

Yahoo! Finance is reporting automaker Stellantis has announced layoffs of about 1,100 workers at a Toledo, Ohio plant. The job losses come after the cuts this year in both salaried and hourly employees.

The online financial outlets said the UAW did not respond to a request for comment on the layoffs, effective beginning January 5, 2025.

Toledo’s South Assembly Plant will move from two shifts to just one. Stellantis has said it is abiding by all of the terms of a bargaining agreement with the UAW.

The company’s stock has fallen nearly 40% in 2024.
