CNBC.com is reporting automaker Stellantis will lay off up to 2,450 U.S. workers later this year. It’s the latest in a series of layoffs as Stellantis cuts production at several plants.
The announcement comes on the heels of Stellantis’ announcement that it will offer broad buyouts to salaried workers in an effort to boost profits through additional cost-cutting measures.
The car manufacturer, which concluded new agreements with the UAW following a series of union strike actions, warned that if the various reductions in the labor force prove insufficient, additional involuntary terminations could follow.
