Ford Lays off 9,700 in Wake of Strikes

Two Ford assembly plants were down for days, resulting in temporary layoffs in the wake of UAW strike actions, The Detroit Free Press reports.

The Dearborn Truck Plant was down from January 25 through 31 and the Kansas City Assembly Plant in Missouri was down from January 25 through February 1, the paper said. Ford also cut production last month of its all-electric F-150 Lightning.
