Employees at a Michigan tooling company have begun the process of seeking to decertify the United Auto Workers Union at their Mt. Clemens workplace.
Workers at Hydra-Lock Corp. have submitted a sufficient number of signatures to the National Labor Relations Board to force a vote on whether to remove the UAW Local 155 from their workplace, according to a story in MichiganCapitolConfidential.com.
According to the story, a majority of workers cite reasons such as the union does little for them. The UAW’s history of corruption is also noted.
Under NLRB rules, a vote on whether to decertify the union is triggered once 30% of workers sign a petition requesting one.
