This year, business magazine Forbes set out to find the top companies in each of the 50 U.S. states.
They evaluated hundreds of millions of data points from 50,000+ companies on everything from employee satisfaction to financial strength to customer reviews.
The result: Hyundai Motor Manufacturing-Alabama made the first-ever list as one of the best companies in Alabama.
Forbes compiled data from a diverse group of analytics companies, including Glassdoor for employee reviews and Yelp, Bright Data, and Google for customer satisfaction data.
Daniel Zhao, chief economist for the employee data firm Glassdoor said millions of employee reviews were analyzed.

“To gauge how employees feel about the companies they work for, Forbes worked with Glassdoor, which collects reviews from businesses of all sizes, ranging from workers’ thoughts about compensation to their confidence in company leadership. Forbes analyzed millions of Glassdoor reviews from the past two years, gaining insight into the specific locations of the various companies—each of which can have its own culture,” Glassdoor chief economist Daniel Zhao says.
